Dressage
Judged
on penalties where 100 minus your percentage score is the number of penalties
you incur eg a dressage mark of 74.2% equates to a score of 25.8 penalties
after the dressage phase.
For
the dressage phase martingales and boots (on the horse!) may not be worn. Grackle nosebands are acceptable. Standard rules on bits will be applied.
Draw
reins and other training aids will not be accepted either in the warm up or in
the arenas.
Showjumping & Cross Country
1
knockdown = 5 penalties
1st
refusal = 5 penalties
2nd
refusal = 10 penalties
3rd
refusal = 10 penalties and compulsory progress on to next obstacle
A
maximum of 25 penalties can be incurred for refusing any one jump. If no attempt is made to jump an obstacle 30
penalties will be incurred.
A
combination of refusal and knockdown will incur both sets of penalties ie 5
penalties for the knockdown plus either 5 or 10 penalties for the refusal.
1st
Rider fall = 20 penalties
2nd
Rider fall = elimination (at judge’s discretion)
Horse
fall = elimination (at judge’s discretion)
Failure
to complete BOTH the jumping courses within the allotted time period will
result in elimination. If there is time
at the end of your jumping rounds you may go back and attempt any obstacle which
was omitted – BUT ONLY IF TIME ALLOWS.
Body
protectors to BETA 3 standard MUST be worn in both jumping phases. It is at the rider’s discretion whether
normal show jumping or cross country kit is worn.
In
the event of a tie on penalties, the dressage collective marks will be used to
decide the winner. If this still
results in a tie the cross country time closest to the optimum will
decide. The judge’s decision is final.
